Isle of Wight band Five Degrees North are among the nominees announced for the annual Radio Wigwam Awards.

The local trio are up for Best Alt Rock Act for their most recent single, Julie Anne.

The Radio Wigwam Awards celebrates the very best in grassroots and independent music and has been running since 2018.

Five Degrees North are among 12 nominees in their category and the winner will be decided by public vote combined with the Radio Wigwam panel.

The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, January 21, in London.

Speaking about the nomination, Five Degrees North said:

“It is absolutely amazing to be nominated as we’ve always been massive fans of Radio Wigwam.
"It’s one of the best stations for up and coming bands.
"We really appreciate all the support and this crazy opportunity, it means the absolute world to all of us.”

2025 saw Five Degrees North move to Brighton during term time, while the band members study at University.

Made up of Louis Marshall on drums, Will Morrison on guitar and Michael Fuller on bass, the group also won the Wight Noize competition, which saw them perform on the main stage at the Isle of Wight Festival.
