Rock favourites Feeder have withdrawn from tonight's (Saturday) Isle of Wight Festival line-up due to a close family bereavement.

The Welsh band had been due to take to the Big Top stage at 21:25, immediately before the Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter close the arena.

Breaking the news to fans on social media this afternoon, the band said:

"We are sad to announce that Feeder won’t be playing at the Isle of Wight Festival today, due to a close family bereavement.
"We are so sorry and hope to be back again next year."

Feeder, whose catalogue includes fan favourites Buck Rogers, Just A Day and Feeling A Moment, were among the most anticipated acts on Saturday's bill at Seaclose Park.

Their withdrawal comes just hours before thousands of festivalgoers are expected to descend on the site for another packed day of live music, with Calvin Harris topping the Main Stage bill alongside Teddy Swims and Rita Ora.

Festival organisers have not yet announced whether another act will step in to fill Feeder's Big Top slot.
