Cross-Solent travel is facing disruption for a second day running, with adverse weather affecting passenger services to and from the Isle of Wight.

High-speed services operated by Red Funnel’s Red Jet between West Cowes and Southampton have been suspended until further notice this morning (Wednesday) due to poor conditions.

A revised timetable had already been planned for today following technical issues with Red Jet 6, which resulted in 12 sailings being cancelled.

Meanwhile, Hovertravel has confirmed its services are also currently suspended because of the weather.

Passengers are being advised that tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s FastCat service, with another update due at 11:15am.

UPDATE 11.15pm

Wightlink has now announced the cancellations of four sailings on the FastCat service.

The 11.15am and 12.15pm sailings from Portsmouth Harbour were called off, with the 12.45pm and 1.45pm sailings from Ryde Pier Head also off.

Hovertravel services remain suspended with the next update expected at 12:45, with RedJet services also suspended.

Red Funnel’s vehicle ferry service is running with delays of 35 minutes.
