Car Leaves Road And Crashes Into Bush On Beapers Shute

A car has left the road and crashed into a bush on Beapers Shute near Brading yesterday afternoon (Saturday).

Police were called to the incident at around 2.15pm after reports that a silver Dacia Sandero had left the carriageway and come to rest in the grassy verge.

Although no other emergency services attended the scene, the impact was significant enough to deploy the vehicle's driver's side airbag.

A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said:

"We were called at 14:15 today to a report that a car had left the road and collided with a bush on Beapers Shute near Brading."

Police have confirmed that no injuries were reported.

It appeared the driver had already left the scene after accepting a lift from a passing member of the public before officers arrived.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are not currently known.
