Bigger And Better Hydrogen-Powered Main Stage To Return To Boomtown Summer Extravaganza

Boomtown festival will use a hydrogen-powered main stage for the second year running when it returns in August.

Festival organisers say the HYDRO XL stage will be fully powered by green hydrogen, following what they described as a trial in 2025.

The stage forms part of Boomtown's 2026 theme, Chapter Five: Radical Redesign, which organisers say will see changes made across the festival site.

HYDRO XL will host electronic dance music acts and will also become the new venue for Boomtown's opening and closing ceremonies.

Festival organisers have released a video featuring members of the team involved in designing, engineering and powering the stage.

Boomtown 2026 has sold out.
