Air Ambulance Lands In Ryde Cemetery As Emergency Crews Respond To Serious Medical Incident

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance landed in the middle of Ryde Cemetery this evening (Friday) as emergency crews responded to a serious medical incident in the town.

The helicopter touched down shortly before 18:00 in the cemetery off West Street, with critical care medics joining ongoing efforts to treat a seriously unwell patient nearby.

The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and firefighters from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at Hill Street.

The incident marks only the second mission flown from the air ambulance’s new base in Southampton, which became operational earlier today.
