The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been called to a medical emergency in Fishbourne this morning (Wednesday), landing at the Wightlink ferry terminal.
The helicopter was dispatched from its base at Thruxton shortly after 9.30am, before circling the village and touching down at the Wightlink Ferry Terminal Fishbourne.
Passengers due to travel on the 10.20am service to Portsmouth witnessed the helicopter land as crews responded to the incident.
On the ground, paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, including an Operational Commander and Critical Care Paramedic, are also in attendance at an address on Fishbourne Lane.
The mission marks the first call-out of the day for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
Wightlink staff are said to have assisted in helping facilitate the safe landing of the helicopter.
A spokesperson for Wightlink confirmed:
"The air ambulance landed at our Fishbourne terminal as they needed to reach a nearby resident in an emergency.
"Our team at the port worked with them to clear cars so they could land safely. "
