Air Ambulance Deployed After Car And Motorcycle Crash On Military Road

The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was deployed to a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on the Military Road on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Compton Farm, between Freshwater Bay and Hanover Point, shortly before 14:30 following reports of a crash involving a Mercedes estate and a black motorcycle.

Police officers, paramedics and specialist critical care medics attended the scene, with the Military Road closed in both directions while emergency crews treated those involved and made the area safe.

The motorcyclist was later taken to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance.

By around 15:30, the air ambulance had been stood down after the incident was found to be less serious than initially feared.

Both vehicles were subsequently removed from the carriageway, allowing the road to fully reopen.
