Yaverland Beach at Sandown Bay has been named as one of the world’s most distinctive beaches, according to travel website TripAdvisor.

Formed just a month ago, the newly named Fitness Hub Mermaids will be plunging into the sea at Sandown Bay three times a week throughout December.

Sandown Bay could soon host a new eco-friendly coastal attraction after the Isle of Wight Council gave its backing for a tidal sea pool proposal to move forward.
