Inspectors say HMP Isle of Wight has improved in some areas, but serious concerns remain over staffing, self-harm, prison conditions and violence.

The Isle of Wight has been named in a major independent report examining organised child sexual exploitation across the UK, with 149 local authority areas identified in the document published this week.

The Isle of Wight Council has been told it must make urgent and fundamental changes after being warned that government intervention could follow if things do not improve quickly.
