The chair of the Isle of Wight county town’s local authority survived a no-confidence vote at a tense extraordinary general meeting this week.

Cllr Louise Rippon has criticised what she calls an “unsafe, unkind and unethical” leadership culture at Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council.
