Police Issue Statement As Man Dies On Isle Of Wight Train Tracks

A man has died on the Isle of Wight after being hit by a train, British Transport Police have confirmed. As previously reported, the incident happened on Friday evening (15) near Los Altos Park, Sandown. Police and ambulance crews were called shortly after 5.30pm. Over the weekend, friends and family having been paying tributes to the man on social media. Flowers have been laid at the scene of the incident. The death is not being treated as suspicious, according to police. Today (Monday) British Transport Police released a statement about the incident. Police said: "Officers were called to the line in Lake at 5.41pm on Friday, May 15 following reports of casualty on the tracks. "Paramedics also attended however sadly a man was pronounced dead. "The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
