Heavy Rain And Strong Winds Cause Travel Disruption

Heavy rain and strong winds are causing travel problems on the Isle of Wight today (Sunday).

A Met Office Yellow Weather Warning is in place until 3pm this afternoon.

Strong winds have led to Hovertravel services and the Red Jet to be suspended.

There also delays of around 90 minutes on Wightlink’s Portsmouth to Fishbourne route.

Surface water is also lying on many of the Island’s roads, with flooding reported in Brading, Beaper Shute and Ryde.
