The number of people who have died after testing positive for coronavirus on the Isle of Wight has risen to 21 after two more people have passed away. According to the latest figures from Public Health England, two more deaths were recorded since Thursday. The total had stood at 19.
Alistair Flowerdew, Medical Director at Isle of Wight NHS Trust, said:
“Sadly, we can confirm that two people being cared for at St Mary’s Hospital who had tested positive for coronavirus have died.
“The men were in their 80s and had underlying health conditions.
“Their families have been informed and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with them all at this difficult and distressing time.”
