Appeal Launched After 25 Year-Old Man Arrested Following Newport Collision

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a collision in Newport.

Officers were called at 11.22am yesterday (10 April) to reports of a road traffic collision on the southbound carriageway of Medina Way.

This involved a red Honda Civic, blue BMW X5, black Kia Sorrento, and grey Nissan Qashqai. Minor injuries were reported.

A 25-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and drink driving. He remains in custody.

We would like to speak to any witnesses of this collision, and anyone with relevant dash cam footage.

We would particularly like to speak to anyone who saw any of the vehicles travelling on Fairlee Road, Coppins Bridge or Medina Way prior to the collision.

If you have any information relevant to our investigation, please call 101 quoting reference 44240149819 or report online via our website.
