15 Coronavirus Deaths Recorded On Isle Of Wight

The number of coronavirus-related deaths on the Isle of Wight has risen to 15, according to NHS England. That figure had stood at 14 as of Sunday (19), as Isle of Wight Radio previously reported.

Speaking following those two deaths, Alistair Flowerdew, Medical Director at Isle of Wight NHS Trust, said:

“Sadly, we can confirm that two women being cared for at St Mary’s Hospital who had tested positive for coronavirus have died.

“Aged in their 60s and 80s the two women both had underlying health conditions.

“Their families have been informed and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with them all at this difficult and distressing time.”

The number of confirmed cases on the Island stands at 74, as of today 20 Islanders are reported to have recovered so far.
