Transfer Deadline Day: Who Could Move Where Before Window Shuts?

The summer transfer window is in its final throes, with the window set to be slammed shut at 11pm tonight (Tuesday September 1).

Here's a look at the business all 20 Premier League clubs could do according to the latest reports.

Arsenal

The Gunners are being strongly linked with Leicester City's 25-year-old midfield player Youri Tielemans.

The Belgian international is in the final year of his contract and valued at a knockdown £30m.

Mikel Arteta's team are also in the mix for Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz, with the 24-year-old valued at £20m due to his contract expiring next summer.

Aston Villa


Douglas Luiz looks destined to leave Aston Villa for Arsenal

With Douglas Luiz set to head out, The Villans could welcome Tottenham's Lucas Moura, 30, to the club either on loan or permanently.

Under pressure manager Steven Gerrard is keen for attacking reinforcements, having seen a move for Watford winger Ismaila Sarr fall through last month over personal terms.

Villa are reportedly interested in securing a deadline day deal for Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker, opening the door for Luiz's departure.

Bournemouth

The managerless Cherries have struggled to acquire new players in this window, although Southampton defender Jack Stephens (28) is set to pen a season-long loan deal.

They are rumoured to be competing with second-tier sides Watford and Bristol City for the signature of Wigan's 23-year-old attacker Callum Lang.

Meanwhile, Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen is the latest name to be linked with the managerial vacancy at the club.

Brentford 

The Bees' focus on the final day of the transfer window is to pull off an audacious, but complicated, deal to sign the promising winger Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The club’s attempts to sign the 21-year-old in January and earlier on in the summer were rejected, but on Wednesday they informed Shakhtar they would be prepared to smash their transfer record and pay a fee in the region of £26m.

Brighton and Hove Albion

Diminutive Chelsea and Scotland midfielder, Billy Gilmour, could look to get his career back on track by heading to The Amex for around £13m. 

Albion have also been linked with Hungarian defender Attila Szalai and Fiorentina striker Christian Kouame.

The Seagulls will hope to maintain the services of their Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo, who continues to be linked with a £42m move to Liverpool.

Chelsea


Aubameyang will provide a short-term fix for Chelsea's striker issues

Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal with Barcelona over the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a move which would see Marcus Alonso move to the La Liga side.

The deal will see Alonso plus around £6.5m go the other way.

Chelsea have also offered £43m for Ajax defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez. The Dutch champions are reluctant to sell after losing Antony to Manchester United for £85m.

Crystal Palace

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Crystal Palace would love to re-sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea.

Teenage Peterborough centre-back Ronnie Edwards has been linked with an 11th hour move to Patrick Vieira’s side, although several other top-flight clubs have also scouted the youngster.

Everton

The spendthrift Toffees seem to have found loopholes in FFP regulations as they've gone on a summer spending spree.

The latest splurge could see Everton present a loan-to-buy bid of £38.8million to Villarreal for midfielder Samu Chukwueze (23) as tension grows at the La Liga side, according to Spanish sports paper Marca.

Fulham


Justin Kluivert's move to Fulham collapsed earlier this week

A busy D-Day is in store for The Cottagers, with left-back Layvin Kurzawa set to join on loan from PSG, while Willian is close to signing on a free transfer.

Daniel James is in advanced talks about a move.

Fulham’s move for Roma winger Justin Kluivert has collapsed after the winger failed to secure a work permit.

An offer has been made for Blackburn's Ben Brereton Diaz, with a flurry of peripheral squad players set to depart.

Leeds United

The club are reportedly pushing to sign Sheffield United defender John Egan before the transfer window closes.

Jesse Marsch’s side are decimated by defensive injury issues, and the Whites are considering the prospect of tabling a late offer for the 29-year-old as a Premier League proven stop-gap.

Leicester City

A summer of transfer constraints has been eased by Wesley Fofana's big bucks move to Chelsea, with the club working on a deal to bring Reims defender Wout Faes in as his replacement for around £12m.

The Foxes have are also in talks with Atalanta winger Jeremie Boga to add to their attacking options.

Liverpool


Arthur Melo could swap the Allianz Stadium for Anfield

Liverpool are working on a deal to sign Arthur Melo from Juventus on loan for the season — with Jurgen Klopp set to get his wish of another midfield player.

The German had held off all summer in regards to signing another midfielder, but the situation has gradually become more pressing.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola's side have completed the signing of Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji.

The £15m deal should conclude incoming business, although a few fringe players are likely to depart in the coming hours.

Manchester United

On the eve of deadline day Erik ten Hag said his business for the window was complete, with international clearance for Antony and completion of Martin Dubravka's loan move the only outstanding issues.

There had been some late noise around the right-back situation, with United fielding inquiries from several Premier League clubs for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Newcastle United


Julian Draxler could provide the final piece of Newcastle's attacking jigsaw

The Magpies are planning to launch a “final offensive” to sign German attacker Julian Draxler (28) from PSG in the late stages of the transfer window.

A move for Watford winger Joao Pedro (20) could be resurrected, with terms having previously been agreed before Eddie Howe's side opted to break their transfer record with a £58m swoop for Aleksander Isak.

Newcastle are in talks with West Ham over young right back Harrison Ashby.

Nottingham Forest

An astonishing summer has seen Willy Boly become Nottingham Forest’s 19th signing, with more potential business to come.

Forest could burst through the 20 transfer barrier if moves comes to fruition for Blackpool's Josh Bowler, Everton's Michael Keane and free agent Serge Aurier.

Southampton

The Athletic reported on Wednesday that Southampton are confident of signing Manchester City pair Samuel Edozie and Juan Larios as they continue their process of recruiting talented youngsters.

Midfielder Jack Stephens is outbound, with Bournemouth close to sealing a season long loan deal, while veteran Oriol Romeu is set to join Girona.

Tottenham Hotspur


Daniel James was previously linked with a move to Spurs, but now looks set for Fulham

Spurs were reportedly in talks to complete a shock deal for Leeds winger Daniel James, but the Welshman now looks set for Fulham.

The club have also joined the race to sign highly-rated 18-year-old Adedire Mebude from Manchester City.

West Ham

The Hammers will prioritise a centre-back on Deadline Day.

The club are close to an agreement to sign Southampton defender Jan Bednarek. But his arrival is dependent on the departure of Craig Dawson, who has interest from Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers. 

Wolves

Willy Boly’s move to Nottingham Forest has been completed, leaving Wolves in the market for a replacement.

West Ham’s Craig Dawson is a real possibility with free agent Jason Denayer also on the list.

Aston Villa are keen to sign Belgium's Leander Dendoncker, with a £13m bid in place.
