Witness And Information Appeal Following Assault In Newport

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Newport.

 

At around 10:30am on Thursday (4 December) a 42-year-old man was outside Costa Coffee in St James Square, when a woman approached him and pushed him to the floor.


The woman then proceeded to punch the man multiple times.

 

The man suffered minor injuries.

 

The woman is then believed to have picked up the man’s phone and walked in the direction of the high street.

 

The woman is described by police as white, with short mousey brown hair, aged in her 20s, approximately 5ft5 and of a plump build.


At the time of the incident, she was wearing a light brown and cream striped knitted jumper, blue jeans and white trainers, holding a red carrier bag and cream handbag.
