There's still time to sign up for Wildheart Animal Sanctuary's first-ever Run Wild 5K, taking place this Sunday.

The charity fundraiser starts and finishes at the sanctuary, with participants running, walking or dancing their way along a route showcasing some of the Isle of Wight's spectacular coastal scenery.

Sponsored by The Price is Wight, the event promises a festival atmosphere, with runners encouraged to dress up in animal-themed fancy dress.

Live entertainment will be provided by FaT Samba, Wight Ukers and folk duo The Watch along the route.

The event gets underway at 9:00am, with a group warm-up led by Snap Fitness at 8:50am. Check-in opens from 8:15am.

Every entry includes admission to Wildheart Animal Sanctuary for the rest of the day, giving participants the chance to visit the rescued animals their fundraising helps support.

A 25% discount is also available for teams of four or more, encouraging friends, families and colleagues to take part together.

The route will be fully supported by volunteers, with sunny spells and temperatures of 18 to 20°C forecast for the event.

Lawrence Bates, Chief Executive of Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, said:

"Run Wild is all about coming together, having fun and doing something amazing for animals in need.

"Whether you run, walk or dance your way around the course, every entry helps us continue providing lifelong sanctuary to rescued animals and supports our rescue work for the future.
"With live music, a great weather forecast and an incredible atmosphere, it's shaping up to be a great day."

The event forms part of the sanctuary's 50th anniversary celebrations, with places still available for those wishing to take part.
