Wildheart Animal Sanctuary Launches ‘Run Wild’ 5K Fancy Dress Fun Run

Get ready, get set and Run Wild this summer, as Wildheart Animal Sanctuary launches a brand-new 5K fancy dress fun run in Sandown.

Earlybird tickets are on sale for the fundraising event, which will take place on Sunday 5th July in celebration of the Sanctuary’s 50th anniversary.

The ‘Run Wild!’ course will start outside the Sanctuary and take runners along Sandown seafront, offering some of the Island’s best coastal views, before returning past Frosty the white lion’s habitat and finishing in the Sanctuary’s picnic area.

Every participant will receive a medal at the finish line, while those who raise £50 before 12pm on Thursday 21st May will also be eligible for a free event t-shirt to wear on the day.

Lorraine White, Head of Community, Events and Partnerships at the Sanctuary, said:

“We’re hugely excited to be holding our first ever charity fun run here at the Sanctuary this summer, and it’s a great opportunity to have some fun while raising vital funds to support the incredible rescued animals in our care.

"Animal fancy dress is fully encouraged, and our team are looking forward to spotting some of the wild and wonderful outfits on display!”
