Reform UK’s Bill Nigh is the new Isle of Wight councillor for Lake North.

He won the ward’s by-election tonight (Thursday) with 290 votes, ahead of the Conservatives’ Adrian Whittaker on 249.

The turnout was 28.43 per cent with 789 votes cast.

The results are as follows:

Bill Nigh, Reform UK: 290

Bob Blezzard, Liberal Democrats: 118

Christopher Lloyd, Labour: 44

Robert May, Green Party: 88

Adrian Whittaker, Conservative Party: 249

The result means Reform UK now has two councillors on the Isle of Wight Council.

It was Bill Nigh’s third time lucky, having recently stood for election in Freshwater South then the Wroxall, Lowtherville and Bonchurch ward.
