A popular Cowes restaurant has announced it will close its doors next month after eight years of trading.
Harbour Kitchen, based on High Street and well known for its award-winning burgers, will serve its final customers on Saturday, February 15.
Owners Brian and Caroline said the decision not to renew the lease had been a difficult one, explaining that continuing at the site would have required committing to a further 10-year term.
In a message shared with customers, they thanked those who had supported the business since it opened.
They said:
“We’ve come to the tough decision not to renew our lease.
"It’s been a wonderful eight years and we couldn’t have done it without our loyal customers, fantastic staff, family and the local businesses who have supported us.”
While the High Street restaurant is set to close, the owners have suggested Harbour Kitchen may return in a different form in the future.
The business operates a fleet of street food vans, which regularly appear at events and functions across the Island.
Brian and Caroline added:
“You might just see Harbour Kitchen on the road popping up in the future.
"We hope to see you before our last day of service.”
