Police Pursuit Ends Safely On Newport Estate

Police have confirmed a pursuit that ended on the Bluebell Meadows/New Pan estate in Newport on Wednesday evening (January 14).

The chase, which began on Godric Road around 9:12pm, was brought to a safe conclusion a few minutes later on Wellesley Way.

Officers used a device to deflate the tyres, causing the vehicle to run on its rims, before successfully stopping it.

A suspect was arrested and the vehicle has been recovered.

Police praised the work of their highly trained officers in resolving the incident safely.

Officers are asking anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage of the incident to come forward, as it could help identify those involved.
