Police Investigating After 12-Year-Old Girl Inappropriately Touched In Newport

Police are investigating after a 12-year-old girl was inappropriately touched in Newport yesterday morning (Thursday).

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary received a report at around lunchtime that the incident had taken place earlier in the day, at approximately 08:30, on Carisbrooke Road.

It is alleged that a man touched the girl on the torso, over her clothing, while she was walking through Victoria Recreation Ground.

The girl was not injured and left the area following the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened and identify the man involved.

No arrests have been made at this time.
