Police have launched an investigation following a burglary at a petrol station in East Cowes during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).
Officers were called at around 12.30am to reports of a break-in at Osborne Garage on York Avenue, close to Osborne House.
Entry was gained after the glass in the kiosk’s front door was smashed, setting off the premises’ alarm system, which was still sounding when police arrived at the scene.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that alcohol and a quantity of vapes were taken during the incident.
Investigations are ongoing and, at this stage, no arrests have been made.
The damaged entrance has since been boarded up, with a notice informing customers the shop is temporarily closed following the break-in and will reopen once the damage has been cleared.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 44260176475.
