Police are investigating a reported break-in at a storage shed at Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club, with CCTV images released as officers seek to identify those involved.

The incident is believed to have taken place at around 20:00 on Sunday 25th January at the yacht club, located off Birmingham Road in Cowes.

However, the matter was not reported to police until this week (Tuesday 10th February to be precise).

In a statement shared online, the Andrew Cassell Foundation said a number of older youths allegedly entered a storage shed at the site.

A still image taken from CCTV footage is now being circulated locally in a bid to help identify those suspected of being involved.

A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said:

“We received a report yesterday (10 February) that a shed at the yacht club had been broken into.
"The incident is believed to have occurred on 25 January, and nothing has been reported stolen at this time. Enquiries are ongoing.”

A forensic investigator was seen at the scene in Cowes this afternoon as part of the ongoing investigation.

Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club has also appealed for information, asking anyone who recognises those pictured not to name individuals publicly but instead to contact the club privately or report information directly to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary on 101, quoting reference 44260069727. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
