Police Appeal For Information After Suspicious Incident In Newport

Authorities are investigating a suspicious incident that took place on West Street, Newport, yesterday morning (Wednesday 24 September) between 8:15am and 8:35am.
A man standing next to a van was reported to have made gestures towards an 11-year-old girl.
The girl was unharmed, and enquiries are ongoing to determine exactly what happened.
The man is described as:
Black
Aged in his 30s
Medium build with short black hair
Wearing a dark red polo shirt and navy-blue trousers
Police are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything suspicious to come forward. CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell camera footage could help with the investigation.
