Shanklin's rising star Georgia Nicole is celebrating after reaching the summit of the South Coast Music Charts.

Georgia is the first person to debut in the charts at number one, and the feat is yet another feather in the cap of one of one of Isle of Wight Radio's Emerging Artists.

Georgia, who narrowly missed out on winning a place on the IW Festival Main Stage at Wight Noize this year, launched her latest single "Game You Play" on all streaming platforms on 26 April, topping 1,000 streams in just 3 days.

Her first single, No Longer Love, received widespread acclaim, being added to multiple playlists and achieving around 26,000 streams to date.

Georgia told Isle of Wight Radio:

"We were listening to the countdown and they said Corrine was number two - I thought there was no chance that I could be number one.
"Then they announced me as number one and I was in total shock!
"I want to say thank you to everyone for their support, it means so much to me."

Georgia will be appearing multiple times on various stages at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, with an originals set in Kashmir Café.

Currently sporting the bright orange hair of Paramore singer Hayley Williams, Georgia will also be heading up tribute band "Paramour" in Electrolove, as well as accompanying local Eminem tribute act — and fellow Emerging Artist — Josh White later on the same stage.
