More than 120 flooding-related calls have been received by Island Roads in the past 24 hours, with a number of roads across the Isle of Wight currently closed due to severe conditions.
Island Roads says closures are in place at Morton Common in Brading, Landbridge in Newchurch, Apse Manor Road, Pondwell Hill in Nettlestone, Rectory Road in Niton and Sandy Road in Gatcombe.
Teams have also taken action short of full closures at several other locations, mainly by installing flood warning signs.
These include Langbridge in Newchurch, Brook Path in Shanklin, The Mall in Brading, Park Road in Wootton, Long Lane in Newport, Briddlesford Road in Havenstreet, Marsh Road in Gurnard, Beacon Alley in Godshill, Ventnor Road in Whitwell, Wallis Close and St Martin’s Road in Wroxall, Farriers Way in Shorwell, Parkhurst Road and Horsebridge Hill, West Lane and High Street in Brading, Forest Hills in Newport, Broadway in Sandown, Fairlee Road near the Island Harbour entrance, Quarr Hill in Binstead and Colwell Road in Freshwater.
Island Roads says most of the activity took place before midnight, but conditions remain busy.
Crews are continuing to assess affected areas and will reopen roads as soon as it is safe to do so.
Motorists are being urged to take extra care, with further flooding possible in the coming days as severe weather conditions continue.
