Man Arrested After Reported Assault In Gunville

A man has been arrested following a reported assault in Gunville on Wednesday evening.

Police were called to Alvington Manor Road at 18:48 after receiving reports that a man had been assaulted outside a residential address.

Officers attended the scene and established that a man in his 50s had allegedly been attacked during the incident.

A 37-year-old man from Newport was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH).

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the suspect remains in police custody while officers continue their enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

No further details about the condition of the victim have been released at this stage.
