Level 42 Star Mark King Joins Isle Of Wight Radio's Topping In The Morning

Level 42 frontman Mark King joined Isle of Wight Radio’s Topping In The Morning today (Thursday, March 5) — and took part in a special Level 42 themed quiz with host Paul Topping.


The appearance comes shortly after Level 42 were announced on the line-up for this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, where they will make their debut this summer.

The band are scheduled to perform at the event on the afternoon of Sunday, June 21.


Global icons from the Island

Level 42 have enjoyed huge global success since forming in the late 1970s, selling more than 35 million albums worldwide.


They have also achieved 20 UK top-40 singles and seven top-10 UK albums.


Their biggest international hit was the song Lessons in Love.


Mark King — widely regarded as one of the greatest bass players of all time — received the Silver Clef Icon Award in 2023, recognising his long-standing contribution to music.


Fans heading to the Isle of Wight Festival this June will get the chance to see the band perform live there for the very first time.
