Freshwater Plans Submitted For Three Custom-Build Homes

Fresh plans have been submitted to build three custom-build homes on greenfield land in the Pound Green area of Freshwater.

GL Developments IOW is seeking planning permission for the homes on land off Queens Road, alongside a new access, public footpath, open space, an orchard and associated infrastructure.

The revised application follows the refusal of an earlier proposal for housing on the site, which attracted 130 objections.

In planning documents, the developer says self and custom-build homes can help increase housing choice and supply, while meeting demand for homes people want to build themselves.

The application also states the development would have limited impact on the surrounding landscape, offer sustainable travel options and enhance biodiversity.

The Isle of Wight Council's public consultation on the plans runs until 14 August, with a decision expected by 4 September.
