Child Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Van In Lake

A child has been seriously injured after being hit by a van in Lake.

The collision happened at around 6.30pm yesterday (Thursday) at the junction of Manor Road and Newport Road, close to the Central convenience store.

The child was hit by a black Renault Trafic van and was taken to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance for further assessment and treatment.

Police have cordoned off Manor Road at both ends while officers investigate the circumstances of the collision.

Road policing officers are examining the scene, with potential evidence marked on the road using spray paint.

The extent of the child’s injuries has not been confirmed.

Police are continuing to investigate.
