Concerns Raised Over Late-Night Disturbances In Nettlestone And Seaview

Concerns have been raised about alleged anti-social behaviour in parts of Nettlestone and Seaview over the summer.

Island First Network representative Jules Hayward told Nettlestone and Seaview Parish Council on Tuesday (September 21) that residents had reported late-night doorbell ringing,

as well as eggs, fruit and vegetables being thrown at homes on Rowantree Drive.

She said the doorbell ringing had been particularly concerning for people living alone, describing it as feeling “quite harassing”.

Cllr Hayward also raised concerns about disruption involving young people at The Haven.

She said the Jolly Fryer fish and chip van had also experienced threatening behaviour, claiming the business had been forced to lock its cab for the first time in more than 30 years.

Information is now being gathered, including potential camera footage, and Cllr Hayward said she had been in contact with PC Andrew Emery.

She said officers wanted to build a case and make clear that the behaviour was unacceptable.
