Isle Of Wight CAMRA Reveals Best Pubs And Beers For 2023

A Newport pub has been named the Island's best of 2023.

Members of the Isle of Wight branch of CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale) have picked Newport Ale House as the Island's favourite pub.

It breaks Northwood's Travellers Joy's incredible streak of three successive wins from 2020-2022.

More than 20 Island establishments received votes.

Sandown's Castle Inn took second place.

Speaking about winner Newport Ale House, CAMRA's Tim Marshall said:

"They won the award several years ago, so they're back at the top!

"They've got a great range of beers and are very well thought of."

The Island's real ale lovers have also been voting for their favourite tipple.

Goddards' Fuggle-Dee-Dum has been named beer of the year, narrowly ousting last year's winner Earl's R.D.A (Island Brewery), which has to be content with this year's runner-up spot.

The full list of winners are as follows:

2. Castle Inn, Sandown (35 votes)
3. Travellers Joy, Northwood (29 votes)
