Get Your Glow On

Healthy, radiant and glowing skin is our number one beauty goal this summer. Thankfully the cosmetics market has us covered.

The four building blocks of healthy glowing skin are hydration, exercise, nutrition and sleep. To keep skin cells hydrated and flush out toxins, drink plenty of water. Regular exercise will also feed the skin with oxygen and nutrients, promoting new skin cells.

Filling up on antioxidants and vitamin C rich foods, like nuts, berries and citrus fruits, will help skin to look brighter and fresher.

Meanwhile, don’t forget your beauty sleep. Skimp on sleep and the stress hormone cortisol can provoke breakouts and a dull complexion.

Above all cleanse, moisturise and exfoliate. Try using small grains massaged into the skin to manually remove dirt, oil and impurities.

For a deeper clean, use a chemical exfoliator which uses a blend of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) to keep skin glowing and healthy.

Look for skincare with brightening ingredients like vitamin C and do try one of the new breed of hybrid products combining skincare and makeup, known as a ‘glotion.’

These blend the hydration of a moisturiser with the radiance-boosting effects of a highlighter to help perfect that radiant natural glow.
