Charity Dash and Splash along Sandown Bay

Dash and Splash along the length of Sandown Bay on August 14th, while raising funds for Ryde charity, Aspire.

The 5-kilometre dash starts at Shanklin Rowing Club to Yaverland, Sandown. This beautiful area has the largest bay on the Island which, at low tide, offers a unique run along the hard sand.

There are 43 groynes in total to negotiate along the 5-kilometre run, most of which are a straight run through large gaps. The remaining 14 will be splashed around, which at low tide will be mostly ankle deep. Two groynes could be waist deep, these will have marshals in the water.

Dash and Splash is a fun run and not a race! You may run/walk and raising money for Aspire, Ryde, a charity that works within the Island community and worked tirelessly through the Covid lockdown, supporting those vulnerable Islanders with food parcels, hot meals, prescription deliveries and daily supportive phone calls.

Tickets: Adults £10, child £5. Under 11 years must be accompanied by an adult. Every participant gets a medal.
