Wootton Bridge Welcomes Return Of Pop Up Post Office

L to R Cllr. Dave Burley, Parish Council Chairman Cllr. Daryll Pitcher, Cllr. Linda Pitcher, Cllr. Barrie Hailstone.

Islanders who live in Wootton will no longer have to go to East Cowes, Pan or Binstead to access a post office - thanks to a new pop up one.

The service is after months of collaborative work between Wootton Bridge Parish Council and Community Action Isle of Wight.

The pop-up post office is situated in the former Brannons Tea Room adjacent to the Parish Council office.

It can handle all services except for passports.

It will initially operate for three hours a week, Wednesday mornings 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Chairman of the Parish Council Cllr Daryll Pitcher said:

“I am pleased that post office counter services have returned to Wootton Bridge. The loss of our post office was a huge blow to the community and a hot topic during the May elections. Back then I promised to get services back and I am proud to say that working in partnership we have been able to do it. I would like to thank Community Action Isle of Wight for their support.”
