A woman in her early 20s was rescued late on Saturday night (August 7) after she reportedly fell part of the way down cliffs at Shanklin.
Rescuers including coastguards and firefighters from Shanklin and Newport went to the rock face behind the Summer Arcade at 9.15pm.
Members of the public were understood to have claimed they had heard a woman 'in distress'.
Using specialist equipment brought from Newport for such rescues, firefighters then lowered the woman to safety.
An ambulance took her to St. Mary's Hospital.
