Wight Proms Hoping For 2021 Return

Organisers of the Wight Proms are hopeful this year's event will go ahead.

Last year's four-day festival was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It is scheduled to take place on 19-22 August in the grounds of Northwood House in Cowes.

As well as celebrating comedy, musical theatre, and of course the ‘Last Wight of the Proms’, this year it is hoped opera will make its debut.

A final decision on whether the event will take place will be made in the coming months.

In previous years, big names such as Ruthie Henshall and Kerry Ellis, classical stars Aled Jones, Russell Watson, Blake and Lesley Garrett, and comedians Omid Djalili, Shappi Khorsandi and Alan Davies have all featured.

Last year, the Wight Proms decided to go online with three exclusive concerts, to help support the festival financially and to
offer work to performers who had otherwise lost all their income.

The online ‘Wight Proms At-Home’ concerts are are still available to watch from the Wight Proms website: www.wightproms.co.uk.
