Wet Leg Unveil New Tracks With Debut LP Set For Spring

Isle of Wight duo, Wet Leg, have released their third and fourth singles, with a self-titled album announced for April 2022.

Fronted by duo Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, new tracks 'Too Late Now' — which includes a typically quirky music video — and 'Oh No' were made available to the public shortly after 6pm last night (Monday).

Already one of the most exciting bands ever to emanate from the Island, Wet Leg have exploded into the global conscience during the past six months, with the release of deliciously irreverent singles Chaise Longue and Wet Dream accumulating more than 2.5 million views on YouTube to date.

Speaking about Too Late Now, Rhian said:

“It is about sleepwalking into adulthood. I never imagined that my adult life would look the way it does and I guess this song reflects on some of the pressures and pulls of life.

"Sometimes I get really inside my head and everything can feel very overwhelming. I think this song is about accepting that life can feel a bit sh*t from time to time.

"Maybe don’t indulge that thought too much though. Just take some time for yourself. Take a breath. Have a bath. It might make you feel a bit better.”

Upon release, the single was named BBC Radio One's Hottest Record In the World, and features the band's trademark flurry of pop culture references and captivating absurdity.

Wet Leg previously announced details of a UK headline tour, where they will perform at nine different venues in April, including Bristol’s Trinity Centre, the O2 Institute in Birmingham and Scala in London.

Further tour dates, this time in Europe and North America, have also been confirmed for Spring 2022.

Before then, a relentless schedule sees them spending January to March touring both the UK and Europe. They recently confirmed they will be supporting rockers, Idles, during their travels.

‘Wet Leg’ the album is available to pre-order on exclusive clear vinyl (with a 7” of two non-album tracks) via the band’s webstore, standard vinyl, cassette, CD and digitally. A variety of merchandise is available as a pre-order bundle.

Having made their Big Top debut at the Isle of Wight Festival this year, organiser John Giddings revealed Wet Leg have been booked in a more prominent position for a future event.

He said:

“They went down a storm this year – and we have booked them for 2023 higher up the bill.

“One of the great things about promoting the festival is that it gives us a chance to help local talent, (Wet Leg) will go far”
