Wessex Cancer Trust Rainbow Run Postponed For 2020

The Wessex Cancer Trust's popular Rainbow Run event, which was due to be held in July at Sandown Airport, has been postponed.

The trust released a statement and said it was due to Government guidance on mass participation events during the coronavirus pandemic.

The annual event, which would have been in its third year, features giant inflatables, colour stations and this year was due to adding bubble stations to the course.

Since the event has been running, it's raised more than £70,000 for Islanders affected by cancer, with nearly 2,000 people taking part.

Lorraine White, fundraising co-ordinator for Wessex Cancer Trust, said:

"We're really disappointed this year's event won't go ahead and we'd like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

"However, we have already put plans in place for next year's event and we hope everyone will still join us on Sunday, July 25th for Rainbow Run - Bubble Fun 2021.

"Thank you for continuing to support Wessex Cancer Trust at this really difficult time.

"The charity remains committed to supporting local people affected by cancer during the coronavirus pandemic."
