Wanted Surrey Men Arrested In Sandown

Two men, wanted by Surrey Police, have been arrested in Sandown (Tuesday).

Officers were called to the Esplanade in Sandown at around midday, after receiving information that the men were in the town.

Neighbourhoods Officers were deployed to locate and detain them.

Two males aged 27 and 30 were quickly located and arrested on suspicion of Theft from a Motor Vehicle.

They and remain in police custody.

A spokesperson for the force said:

"This was the result of some dynamic and proactive work by South Wight NPT, Response and Patrol 'A' shift and our Intelligence Team.

"Those looking to come to the Isle of Wight to commit crime should think twice - you're not welcome, we will find you and even help to you leave!

"hank you to the Public for your understanding whilst we caused some disruption to traffic flow on the Esplanade to effect theses Arrests."
