Volunteers Needed For Isle Of Wight's Isle Access Charity

Isle Access

Volunteers are being sought for charity Isle Access which aims to support people with disabilities by providing accessible services like adapted cycling.

The charity works with people of all ages and abilities, including veterans, people who experience loneliness and people who need more supportive exercise.

Isle Access relies on volunteers and grants and is holding an open day next week (Saturday 12 June) for new volunteers to sign up.

It is looking for people to help run their cycling sessions for the disabled in Newport and Freshwater on Saturdays between 10am and 3pm.

Isle Access Treasurer, Steve Gibbs told Isle of Wight Radio it'll also be looking to find trustees and Island businesses to support them too.

He said:

'[We need] Trustees who could dedicate a bit more time and becoming involved in making some the running of the charity and set the direction we need to further our ambitions.

'We also need business to support/sponsor us a lot of business do not realise the disposal income some families have and the potential of a positive image this brings.'

The open day is on June 12 at the Basketball Courts, Seaclose, Newport from 11am and 1pm.

If you want to get involved call Steve on  07714 776779, or email him at [email protected]
