Ventnor's The Royal Hotel Scoops Two Top Awards

​​​​​​​The Royal Hotel is celebrating after scooping a Gold Award for ‘Best Hotel Experience’ in the Red Funnel Isle of Wight Awards – and retaining its Four Star Hotel classification, two AA Rosettes and an improved AA Merit Score securing the Silver Star Award.

The Silver Star is awarded to highly recommended hotels offering a superior level of quality within their star rating, high standards of hotel keeping - in particular, hospitality, service, cleanliness outstanding food.

The Royal Hotel turned down the opportunity to delay the inspection due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, and despite the changes to operations, came out with an all new Silver Star Award.

Built in 1832, The Royal is one of the longest standing hotels on the Island was the first hotel on the Island to achieve Four AA Stars and has now held Two AA Rosettes for over 24 years.

The AA inspection concluded:

“The team was found to be passionate and obliging from start to finish. Hospitality is one of the many strengths The Royal has to offer.

“The team displayed the hallmarks of excellent training and smiley hospitality. Guest engagement was personalised and meaningful thus ensuring a relaxed atmosphere from start to finish.”

The Red Funnel Isle of Wight awards highlight shining stars within the community, each recognising the top three nominees with Gold, Silver or Bronze awards. The Royal Hotel scooped ‘Gold’ for ‘Best Hotel Experience.’
