An unmanned dinghy discovered off the coast of Bembridge led to a call out for Bembridge RNLI's All-Weather Lifeboat this morning.

The RNLB Alfred Albert Williams was launched at 11.45am to investigate a report from a Dutch Warship of an unmanned rubber dinghy in the vicinity of the Nab Tower.

A spokesperson from Bembridge RNLI said:

"Conditions were very benign so it did not take them long to reach the area and locate and recover the unmanned dinghy. The Alfred Albert Williams then returned back to the Offshore Boathouse and was recovered by 12.30pm."
