Two More Arrests Following Sandown Caravan Incident

Two further people have been arrested following a serious incident at a holiday park in Sandown.

Police were called to The Fairway Holiday Park on Sunday evening (14) to reports of an aggravated burglary, involving three men.

It was reported that one of the men had a handgun with him.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers said that a 24-year-old man from Newport was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

Today, police have confirmed that two more arrests have been made.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, and a 25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and possession of a class B drug. Both remain in custody at this time.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said:

"As part of our enquiries, we are keen to hear from anyone who may have any information that could assist our enquiries.

"Maybe you saw something suspicious at the caravan park last night? Or perhaps you saw the men leaving the caravan park?

"I also want to urge anyone who may have dash cam footage from the caravan park and surrounding area around 6.45pm on Sunday to get in touch.

"Anyone with information should call 101, quoting the reference 44210056340.

"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

The three men have been bailed today (Thursday).

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:

'The three men arrested in relation to this investigation have since been bailed as we continue our enquiries.

'Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.'
