Two Arrests In Ryde Following Reports Of Homophobic Behaviour

Two men have been arrested in Ryde this afternoon (Tuesday), following reports of homophobic behaviour — and one count of failing to appear in court.

Police attended Union Street following reports of a man allegedly in breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order.

A 30-year-old man was subsequently arrested in Church Lane on suspicion of breaching a CBO, and was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and a homophobic-related public order offence.

He remains in custody at this time.

Officers also arrested a 44-year-old man on Union Street in Ryde who was wanted on warrant for failing to appear in court.
