Two Arrests After Ryde Knife Incident

Reports of a man in possession of a knife led to two people being arrested in Ryde.

Hampshire Constabulary says it was called to Ryde Esplanade just before 2.20pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

Officers say they received reports of a person with a knife in their bag,

A spokesperson said:

“Officers attended and, as part of their enquiries two people were arrested, a 27-year-old man from Ryde and 31-year-old man of no fixed abode, both on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

“The 31-year-old man has been released with no further action. The 27-year-old man has been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.”
