The Needles has turned red to show awareness of the struggling events and music industry which is on its knees due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Red Alert campaign’s aim is to highlight the threat of job losses in the live events sector.

Buildings and landmarks across the country have turned red in recent weeks to highlight the plight.

Martin Hall from Phoenix Events and Productions and Neil Lilley from NDLE Event Power Solutions travelled out to the iconic landmark off the west of the Island - with photographer Sienna Anderson - who captured the stunning shot.

People in the events, nightclub and live music industry are calling on Government support and better protections for their livelihoods, with venues now having been closed for more than five months.

The National Theatre, The Roundhouse, The Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Stadium are among London landmarks which have also joined in recently.
